Bridgewater Ready Mix hosted a contractor-focused session in Bridgewater ahead of the start of the new construction season, bringing together local professionals to discuss the transition from GU to GUL cement and what it means on the job site.
The session featured industry insight from Mark Munro of St. Mary's Cement and Shane MacDow of Pinnacle Agencies, who shared their knowledge and experience and helped guide the conversation.
Rather than a traditional presentation, the session created space for open discussion, giving contractors the opportunity to ask questions, share what they are seeing in the field, and learn from one another.
Topics included:
differences in performance between GU and GUL cement
finishing considerations and water demand
challenges encountered on job sites
practical adjustments and solutions
Contractors responded positively to the format, noting the value of the open dialogue, the opportunity to connect with peers, and the practical nature of the discussions. The session was well received overall, with attendees also enjoying the lunch and takeaways provided.
The value of the session came not only from the information shared, but from the opportunity to connect. Contractors were able to compare experiences, validate challenges, and walk away with a clearer understanding of how to adapt.
Bridgewater Ready Mix is committed to supporting the local construction community by creating opportunities like this, where knowledge, experience, and practical insight can be shared. The event will be evaluated, and based on participant feedback, similar sessions may be scheduled in the future.
Special thanks to Jennifer Naugler for supporting the coordination and promotion of this event.
